Do you want to use your health insurance benefits for your massage? I no longer bill health insurance for massage. However, there are health insurance plans that have benefits for out-of-network massage providers. If you have these benefits, I can provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement. Here is the step-by-step suggestions (please verify with your insurance).
1. Call your health insurance company and ask if there are out-of-network massage benefits.
2. a) If you do have these benefits, find out if there is a separate out-of-network deductible - and what is that amount.
b) If you don't have these benefits, you will not be able to get reimbursement.
3. Get a massage referral/prescription from your health care provider (one that your insurance accepts). Why do you need this? The referral tells me what your diagnosis -- which are also the billing codes that are needed for you to get reimbursement. I also need these codes to put on your detailed receipt that you will submit to your insurance company. And most of the time, the insurance company wants a copy of the referral/prescription when you submit the receipt for reimbursement. Make sure to keep a copy of your massage referral/prescription.
4. Make massage appointment with Tacoma Massage Pro.
5. Complete Health History Form for Tacoma Massage Pro.
6. Arrive to your appointment with your referral/prescription and completed health history form.
7. Receive your massage.
8. Pay in full for your massage.
9. I will provide you with a detailed receipt.
10. Submit the following to your health insurance company (may vary depending on your carrier): health insurance reimbursement form, massage referral/prescription and a copy of the Tacoma Massage Pro detailed receipt.
11. Keep copies of everything until you receive an Explanation of Benefits from your health insurance company.
